This is a one-day themed course delivered by members of the Manchester Safeguarding Children Board Training Pool. Domestic Violence and Abuse is prevalent across all areas in Manchester and Nationwide and is a common theme in many Serious Case Reviews. Two women a week in the UK die as a result of Domestic Violence and Abuse.Please apply for this course if you work with children and/or their families in Manchester and/or need to understand the Manchester strategy on DV&A. You need to have completed a basic awareness safeguarding course within the past 3 years to qualify for this course.
The aim of this course is to provide an awareness of Domestic Violence and Abuse. The trainers will examine how to recognise DV&A, the impact, indicators and response to DV&A. The course will look at power and control models of domestic abuse, in line with current MSCB and MSAB policy. You will be given the opportunity to understand the Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) and the referral process.
