This is a one day course for multi-agency professionals who work with children and or their families in Manchester. The course will be delivered by professionals who work in the Complex Safeguarding hub, social work consultants and subject specialists.
What are the signs of exploitation? Why are adolescents targeted by exploiters? What do we mean by 'risk' and `vulnerability` - are we helping or hindering? What and who is affected by modern day slavery? How can we include and support young people rather than exclude and criminalise them and what happens when young people turn 18? These are some of the questions that the course will discuss and will explore what actions professionals can take to safeguard young people.
Please apply for this course if you are currently working directly with young people and or their families in Manchester.
This training aims to provide an opportunity to better understand how children and young people are exploited and to discuss a trauma informed approach when working with children and their families.
The course will also discuss the impact of trauma on young people and how working in a trauma informed way can improve outcomes for young people and their families.
Cut off date for applications has now passed.
